Great stuff. That is definitely the way to do it across the board.

I'm gonna drill a hole in the head and insert a small dowel of wood with some gorilla glue, then do the same on the bill to add some reenforcement to it, then turn the head so the bill is over the back of the deek for the rest of the journey. that should help keep it from falling off again.

I forgot to post this pic.....
We had a doe and a yearling swim across the bayou right in front of us when we went around a turn. Were we outlaws, that yearling coulda been camp meat. it got hung up on the limbs along the bank and we could have killed it with a bat. I took a picture of the doe, but she jumped behind a group of trees when the camera snapped and she can not be seen in the pic.

Had a great time w/ Keith and Paul.

When we met that morning, I was informed they were packing the rambler (the kiss of death).

The "guide" ( myself) made it interesting by first picking an area that was hard to reach w/ low water levels and on a day not many people seemed to be out there, the couple that were, there were where we hoped to hunt.

Keith and Paul were great sports - the guide turned them around, had them on narrow-shallow trails, hopping logs and getting bushwhacked.

After the shannigans, we made it to plan b shortly after LST (a much easier path which we could have started at and would have had more success in numbers had the "guide" picked it from the beginning).

My favorite quote of the day was probably Keith saying,"now I know what it's like to hunt in South Carolina," upon leaving plan a.

Fortunately, uncharacteristically by their nature, we had wood ducks fly late at plan b and gave us some memorable action.
