How long is your teal season ? Does it take days away from the general season ?

Get ready, they may be going back your way. Serious flight headed north out of the marsh Sunday afternoon and plenty of movement in all directions in the marsh yesterday morning. Then next to nothing in the air yesterday afternoon or this morning. Seems Elvis has left the building.

Still very few here. Hoping the predicted north wind fri/sat brings a few.

Did have the first flock of pintails work all the way in until a distant volley bumped them.

Wife was jealous how excited I was seeing pintails again. I told her to leave for nine months and I'd be excited to see her back too. Then I'd shoot her too.

Went to the pond that I always hunt for teal and it had 200+ bluewings on it last Thursday and we only saw maybe 30 birds on Saturday morning. Managed 11 out of the two flocks we got in but that was it for the opener. This rainy cold weather has them all screwed up

We got there got all set up, was just about shooting time and of course someone comes crashing in. Teal are starting to fly in groups around the marsh and this guy was just crashing around, he finally get set up. Then just after that guy 2 more come crashing into the marsh, straight toward us. Just a minute or so until shooting time they head off in another direction as birds are flying all over. A good group of about 30 would have landed if they hadn't been tooling around. Shooting time we have groups come in and out, and we are the only ones to shoot. We ended up getting 2 of our 3 limits; one guy left empty handed and the other 2 stayed after we left. It just irritates the chit out of me when guys get there that late.

My guys shot but two yesterday morning, but we shot 18 as rain cells passed through yesterday afternoon, so there are still a few around. Think that was just the weather stirring what's here, and can't say I'm looking forward to this morning's hunt. (Ought to be at the camp now.)
