And the meat is just as good.

You don't kill deer on crop deprivation tags do you? You get more meat quicker when you can stack them up.

I've done the experiment side by side. It is not all in my head. I can tell the difference. Sucks that you can't.
Oh, and guess what else....a small young nutria will be more tender than a mature one too. Yep-If done side by sides on that one too....

Nope.

Here's my last two. From 2011, and 2012.
They were both killed in Nov, they were both over 4 years old, they were both the only deer I killed those years, and they were both delicious.

Nah. No difference in the meat. By the time a deer is 6 months its spent more time on its feet than you do in ten years. The muscles are the same, just smaller.

The doe to buck comparison is just preposterous. Two deer the same age, living in the same place, eating the same thing, spending the same amount of time on its feet, are going to taste different?

A buck during the rut is not the same as a doe. Shoot them in the spring and you would have a point. A buck during the rut has one thing on his mind and eating ain't it. He also covers a many many more miles chasing does in heat. Not to mention the rubbing on trees...

Don't doubt that they were delicious, depending on how you cooked them. But a spotted fawn is better inda pot.

You don't kill the bucks that I kill with a bow, without being fully aware of that.

It doesn't change the way that they taste, unless you BELIEVE that it makes them taste bad.
And if somebody switches the meat, without you knowing, you will NOT be able to tell the difference.

It's the same thing as putting cheap wine in an expensive bottle. You will BELIEVE that it's expensive wine. And that's what you will taste.

something else....
I keep the turkey legs and thighs and boil them down to make stocks. the jakes and hens fall apart before the gobblers. I put all the legs and thighs from my Dad, Indawoods, and I that we have harvested from our birds from the spring and boil them down all in one pot. Guess what happens? The hens and jakes fall apart first. But I guess that's all in my head too. :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:
On avg. it takes 2 hours longer for the gobblers to break down and fall apart in the pot.

Now I know what your problem is...you don't have very refined taste if you can't tell a bad bottle of wine from a good one...it has NOTHING to do with PRICE!

You should try that. It will put more tender meat in your freezer faster than sitting on a deer stand. AND you can shoot bucks in the spring when they are NOT in the rut!

Spring bucks taste WAY better than bucks in the rut!!!! You should give THAT comparison a try, but it might be pointless since you can't tell a good bottle of wine from a bad one.

I challenge anyone to hand me a package of stew meat from an old mature rutting buck or a fawn (un-aged) and let me cook a sauce piquant with it. I'll be able to tell which it is 100% of the time after stewing for 1.5 hours. I have done it too many times already.

Let me also take a Deer roast from those same deer and cook the fawn for 2 hours, and the mature buck for 6 hours and guess what-you can't tell the difference. but let me sample both after 1.5 hours and I will be able to tell the difference.

Nope...you can have your jollies chasing a deer you may never get a shot at, I'll take piling up does and yearlings over that ANY DAY! Meat inda freezer while you are out freezing in a deer stand. :hi:
