How could I forget about goose legs and thighs. I save them and make gumbo with them. Guess what, the young ones fall apart way before the old birds do....

Sure, there are long periods of boredom.
But, they are punctuated with moments of pure adrenalin rush.

And there it is, This is the kinda guy that hunts deer. Proof positive that deer hunting is the most boring thing in the world

I'll eat any damn deer put in front of me...

But young'uns DO NOT take as long to cook to tender...

Why...?

I like venison steaks... if you can't tell the difference in toughness with those, you haven't eaten one. Do they taste "the same"

Yes

Is there a textural difference...?

Yes

That's all I got.

There is NO difference.

So, you doubt me that after 1.5 hours a mature buck will be tough as leather in a sauce piquant...

Just read the thread in the dog forum about orange vs. white dummies. I immediately came to this thread to post a NEW "most boring thing I can think of" and T Man kinda beat me to it.

Those "experts" can't even agree on whether or not a dog can see orange...
So I gotta say the most boring forum on DHC is the hunting dog one.

I don't know whether dogs can see color, but I know mine hates hot air balloons even when they are a long freaking ways away she gives them hell.

Plus anybody can hit a big deer, it takes skills to hit a 50 lb yearling doe. The vitals on that thing are tiny

Nope.

Here's my last two. From 2011, and 2012.
They were both killed in Nov, they were both over 4 years old, they were both the only deer I killed those years, and they were both delicious.
