We'll see. Probably just another unfulfilled front promise.

:lol3: this one might actually live up to it with that strong low driving it dumping all that snow. Let's hope that is a prelude of things to come....I'd love to see lots of snow cover up north this year.

:lol3: :clapping: we were laughing about that last night! :lol3: They interviewed him and he gave some long explanation about it being a safety issue....something about jamming a finger clapping....

Happy to be wrong about this front. Hot and still as it was in the wee hours this morning, the north wind caught us out and about at sunrise and sent me back to the house for a sweatshirt and hot breakfast. Headed back out with the coyote to enjoy it. And maybe hear a specklebelly?

NORTH WIND here, getting breezy, but hasn't lowered the temp, yet. I NEED this north wind to suck moisture out of the ground. I think I'm going to do the same as Rick.

Weeell, both the need for a sweatshirt and hope to hear specks proved premature once into our hike with the sun up. But still a sweet morning to be out.

swamp, that looks more like a drift to me. talked to a couple people in Wy and they said they got a foot. if you look in the background of that pic you can see the crops in the field as well. the storm wasn't nearly what they predicted.

Been trying to make specks out of everything that flies without success, but what really floats my boat is hearing the first ones of the new season.

Dave, you might oughta try an evening hunt at your place. Talked to a fellow this morning who lives a mile or so down the road from it who says there's been an impressive teal flight around 6 the past couple days. We saw none in Klondike this morning, but the water's off most of the second crop in the area we hiked.

Few things break the crisp morning air like a speck.
