Come to think of it I killed my one and only band on a heck of a shot (roughly 50 yards). Sometimes it pays off.

Yep unless you use a mag extension. Float the 10th then.

I own the ultimate waterfowl shotgun, with wood stock and forearm. The gun that all auto loaders aspire to be. I have never floated a fourth while hunting, but I have loaded and outright killed a bird after loading a fourth shell better than a dozen times.

Little bragging, three of us were hunting the fog for canadas. All of a sudden they were there. We all unload our guns on them, I put a fourth shell in the gun, and kill one more. We go out and pick up ten birds.

I'm not saying I shoot that well all the time. But there are days that it all comes together. Learn how to handle recoil and get back on target.

I don't recommend floating #4. I rarely get a 3rd shot off. I see #3 & #4 as a cripple killer.

Easier to just keep a second and third gun loaded....a claymore in the pocket works well too.

Does four on the water and two leaving count? If so, mark somebody down for a sixt...something, with three rounds. One in the pipe, one in mag, and one floating. Long plug.

Law and order every time.

Spring snow goose. Four shots, all four birds folded. Although the first bird folded just before I squeezed the trigger, but hey I still count it. It would have been mine if somebody else hadn't killed it first :lol3:

First time shooting from a layout was spring snow goose. It took me 5 shots to sail the first bird :lol3:

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, oh, oh, oh, he's going down

I now make sure I practice before I go since I don't hunt from a layout at all the rest of the year.

Ducks I don't see much of a point. Snows and Canadas I'm sure more people do it than would admit. If you can't kill 3 Canada's with 4 shots, you need to quit.

Group of buffleheads crossing in front of me....3 shots with the SP-10, 4 birds down. #2s out of a 10ga = buttload of pellets flying, but you didn't state any restrictions.

I've always called the third shot the f**k you shot. Usually I only shot it cause I missed the first two. What would I call the fourth shot?
