The local Marsh Hens are in trouble!
Had a good shoot this AM. Northeast wind and a flood high tide was a deadly combination.

I've seen a few of those over the years, just never pursued those little buggers. Virginia rail, correct?

Yes DC, mostly all Virginia Rails with a couple of Sora rails mixed in there. Good eating!!

See very few rails my way...only hunted em in Argentina, and those buzzards were huge.

I find they taste similar to gallinules....
