A big river, an aqua pod, a dog and a bunch of ducks have a meeting with doom. An hour after first light will let me know who was facing their doom. Me or the ducks. :lol3:

My Buddies and I hunt PA's south zone which does not open until the 19th but we are going upstate to my families cabin this weekend for the North zone opener. Our buddy we meet at school has an absolutely beautiful pond up there and there have been a couple ducks using it. Hopefully we can knock down a couple but I more interested in just being out in the field again taking in one of gods sunrises with my best friends and dog. Plus being at the cabin i may be able to sneak into the bow stand for a little bit haha. But good luck to everyone as the season gets rolling! I cant wait :grooving:
Happy Hunting!

There are thousands and thousands of ducks on the refuge. They are stacked.
Problem is...on opening day the yayhoos will shoot early and drive them away while its still pitch black dark.
For this reason I quit doing openers many years ago.
Sigh...I will go this year and watch, take notes, and NARC OUT all the early shooters I can.

I'll probably hunt for 5 minutes, kill my 3 wood ducks, and then curse NC because I see nothing else.

Opening day here is still over a month away. Gotta take out some deer before the ducks start to show up! First duck hunt will be the second weekend in MO. Gotta duck/pheasant hunt planned with my dad. Hoping it'll be a great time!

Dang! Can almost feel a hint of anxiety. Our opener over month a way.may be hunting ducks or may be enjoying a sunrise with a river bank breakfast. One thing for sure it will be a CIRCUS here. With people camping out days before it opens. Ain't got time for that!!

So the drakes are all plumed out where you are? Seems unlikely.

You mean for 2014? Not yet. This year's opener was over a week ago in West By God.

I thought in WV you could see a plumed woodie anytime if you just go to the next family reunion/wedding?
