THE ANTI DOG FORUM

Postby Underradar » Thu Oct 10, 2013 9:37 pm

Since we have been warned of even visiting the dog forum, for fear the natives there will wet their wee britches, we need a dog forum for the HH. By the powers vested in me by Baby Jeebus, I declare this thread The Anti Dog Forum.

To lead by example, here we go:

My lab is a natural retriever, as all good duck dogs should be. She doesn't always retrieve to hand, literally, but is that really necessary? Anyone who force fetches his dog must be doing that to salvage a sub par genetically inferior cur with a bogus pedigree. A good dog, raised on a diet of chicken bones and deer scraps, will always find that inner firebreather drive to excel, with no need for silly field trials where both the dogs and handlers wear gay neck-kerchiefs.

Feel free to discuss and come here for advice.

My lab died, and no one on Duckhuntingchat even cared.

My dog has trodden over a dead bird to bring back a spent shotshell wad. Twice.

Edit: not my dog, my father's. I just trained her.

Well, his sensitive nose must have detected a loathesome disease in that duck. Throw Ole Roy a pork chop bone for saving your life!

Wouldn't the "Anti Dog Forum" mean that you hunt without a dog???

Would this be the forum to share about small dogs and shock collars? Like how you don't take a collar made for a big dog and add holes to it so that it will fit a small dog.

Found out about it on my own. Mine didn't even last a week  Never would have thought that a wiener dog couldn't take that kind of voltage

Since I`m being hammered with PMs ,I`ll just share this. First off I`m no expert and my first clue that some thing was amiss should have been when he straightened out . I`m not talking about acting right I`m talking about front legs extended as well as rear. Could have shot him out of a bow he was so stiff.

My dog pissed on my dove seat and then ate a dove on the same hunt this year. He also shook a crippled black duck last season that was mount worthy. Should he be put down?

Father inlaw always brage about how awesomely trained his black lab is. He buys them to sit in a field where they eventually of old age because he never hunts. I tried to get her to fetch the dead duck decoy and she wouldn't. He says it has to be a real duck. So I killed a duck out of a ditch and brought it back 30 minutes later. She still wouldn't fetch it. He says it has to be killed within minutes because she's trained to only fetch fresh birds.
