Strong Cold Front Early next week...winter storm in AK.

The remnants of a strong typhoon that hit Japan is spinning in the Bearing sea with strong winds...gonna push warm air north of Washington far north into Canada, which will drive/pull the cold air south.....

Weather says high 30's for next weeks Michigan trip! They are claiming birds that normally don't show up for another month are trickling down already!

We're expecting snow here. Bring it. Today was the first day I did not see bluewings on the marsh.

I expect to see quite a few on our opener here in 3 weeks.

It has been a steady wind a rain pattern here for awhile. 50 foot seas in the Bering Sea  They just started giving the permits out to the crabbers after the shutdown. You know they will head out into that.

No. I've been out in 6's before and that was rough as schit!

Green water is not fun to be in. Keeps you on your toes. I have been in 10's off of Kodiak Island and was glad when we found a calmer bay.

What does this mean for the Appalachian Flyway? Mass migration or trickle down/sideways?

As long as there's a little space between them, wouldn't be too bad. :scooter:

And I'd want Heather Locklear as my first mate.

I am in Tampa for work, which is cutting into my hunting time, but the wife called to tell me its a nice 30 degrees. I think she wants to trade places with me. Tampa is no place for a MN guy. Was here a couple months ago and it was way worse though.

My second opening day is this Saturday.
Forecast calls for temps in the low 50's during day and low 30's at night.
Slight chance of precip. with winds wsw to South.
I am plotting on them ducks.
I know some skinny water nobody likes messing with. I can set up Friday and camp on the site in my blind.
If I dont get the spot and everyone is camping...plan B is go to a drawing on Saturday morning.
Plan C, Kaskaskia river. Plan D, go to Lithia Springs.
See how I am? :grooving:
INTERNET CREDIBILITY is...an OXYMORON. :moon:

Leaving Thursday for a week in Montana, hope it gets some mallards in the area. Just please allow for easier travel than last year. Season opens here on Sat, haven't seen a bird at all locally.

Temps out here on the end of the Alaska Peninsula are a little warmer than normal, and the interior seem warmer also, but I do not watch them daily. We are having the slowest season anyone can remember. The guides and tourist are complaining, I still enjoy everyday I can get out, but have shot very few birds this year. Supposed to blow 40 to 50 kts tomorrow and then increase to mid 60's Thursday, will make keeping the decoys in the same borough, county/parish, a chore but will be out there chasing. My MT buddy just got back from Canada and said it was the best year ever and we started hunting there in 1990 so you folks down south sound like you may be in for a good one. Best of luck
