You all should work 6 hours a week at gander!
I think 50% off Winchester too.

You got ripped off!!!! And minimum wage isn't my friend, even for your "discount". :sarcmark:

Yeah... My FFL quoted me $1,350.00, that is with his transfer fee. Doesn't include a 40% discount.

Anything under $1,300 on a new sbeII, is a good deal. There were a few years of lemons. But still, a tried and tested shotgun.

Nobody in their right mind would buy a new gun at BPS, gander or Cabelas.

You can do a quick google search for FFL holders in your area, call them up and see what they can get you. You should be able to get a brand new camo SBE2 for around $1300, maybe $1400 with the transfer fees.

The OP didnt get ripped off, $1139.40 for a brand new SBE2 is a great deal.. but don't brag about your 40% off because you really got about 15-20% off.

A customer of mine that I always talk guns with was telling me that someone he knew at gander was bragging about what he got an AR for with his employee discount. That employee price was about the same if not a bit higher than any other decent mom and pop gun shop around town's regular price. We had a good laugh.

Gander is ridiculous. I only go in to buy license if I absolutely have to. Oh, and the occasional cranberry red bull or bag of circus peanuts. (It's right by my apt and where I work so I have an excuse to walk in from time to time). However, in a month or so Bass Pro will be open so bye bye GMtn!

I do like BPS. We go there a lot. Gun prices are not great but the rest of the store is cheaper than cabelas and a shorter drive for me.

For me it was a toss up between the SBE2 and the SV. I must have stood in the store an hour picking one up, shouldering it, handling it, then the same thing with the other gun. It came down to the SV shouldering a smidgen more perfectly than the SBE2. I know I wouldn't have been sorry if I had bought the SBE2 - I think they're both fine.

And I didn't buy it for looks. I bought it for dependability and functionality. I've used it 2 seasons and have no complaints.

Listen, I'm not asking for the guy's parking spot, just a general area where I might find the store.
