Incredible End To Iron Bowl

Postby Hugatree » Sat Nov 30, 2013 8:45 pm

There's one second left on the clock. Bama lines up to kick a 57 yard field goal. Auburn ingeniously puts a receiver in the end zone. Bama misses it but kicks it right to the receiver. Said receiver runs it all the way back for a TD. Game over. Google the clip if you missed it. Great coaching on the part of Auburn.

Saw this live. Was ridiculous hearing the commentators. Even crazier was the fact that the review added that one second to the clock instead of going to OT

Glad you got to see history made. Malzahn is a college football offense genius. Arkansas is very stupid ---- well more stupid ----- for letting him get away. I am a native Arkansan and Hog fan for the record.

Pretty epic game for sure. I couldn't believe that last play. Auburn has a running game.

Saban made several poor decisions.

Didn't they steal the idea of a field goal return specialist from LSU?

I bet the Tigers win the SEC Championship.

How will this upset the apple cart for the BCS? No SEC team this yr. in the Championship game?

Do FSU or OSU have conference championship games to play?
EDIT* Either way, SEC is still the best conference in the nation, hands down. 6 teams in the top 12 to start the week. That's half of the conference. It was like that preseason as well.

This idea has been around for quite awhile. Devin Hester returned a missed field goal in 2006.

The Natty won't be in the SEC this year. Unless a miracle happens in conference championship games.

One of the best games I have seen all season.

I could definitely see Michigan State beating OSU rather than Duke beating FSU. I don't think Duke can beat FSU at all actually. That said, if one of those two teams were to lose, the SEC Champion would go to the BCS National Championship and the other one wouldn't get a BCS Bowl. The voters and the computers would like 'Bama over any 2-loss team as an "at large", even if it were Auburn. The same scenario played out years ago when Mizzou went to the Cotton Bowl. Kansas went to a BCS bowl and Mizzou did not, even though Mizzou beat Kansas in the regular season 36-28.

The SEC Championship is going to be a good game, mark it down.

Don't tell this to an LSU fan. Saban is still God to some of our fans. If you watch the game and think realistically, Saban really blew it in this one.

Yeah. It's pretty easy to be in the top 12 when all your games are against "ranked" opponents all season. The best pre-season rankings that ESPN could buy.

The $EC can suck it.
