Observations on Arkansas Public Hunt Last Week

Postby Hugatree » Mon Dec 02, 2013 5:36 pm

I hunted around some young men from Arkansas last week on an unnamed public spot whose initials are Bayou Meto. While they were not totally happy an out of stater was around, they were respectful to the point of being helpful. I was very impressed. I also hunted near a bunch from South Carolina. They acted like horses butts. They had no respect for themselves, the beautiful timber we were in nor anyone else. That's about it-----draw your own conclusions.

My pernt is some of us who have been going AR for the last two decades might see fees sky rocket due to the actions of a few not necessarily from one state in particular. Come to think of it, I am being a bitch aren't I? Know water; know Ducks. No water; no Ducks.

Conclusion is that you are letting someone else's actions be of your concern. It's not a perfect world. Create your own experience, hug some of that timber your in, be glad your there. Not sure what your looking for.

I am looking for full duck straps, a big ole cheeseburger from Sportsman's Inn and a smile on my son's face.

There's a difference between "bitching a lot" and "being a bitch." Have to tell my ole lady that bout once a week, too. She still don't seem to get it though.

Water was in severe shortage mode for public hunting. We saw more ducks in the air and in the fields than I have seen in a decade but for a poor boy, the options weren't there. Anyone hunting private flooded ground around Bayou Meto should be hammering them. I learned more about Bayou Meto than I have ever learned. Sometimes adversity brings about growth. I will be ready in the future. Ended the week by stopping by RNT and having the privilege of working with Butch Richenback to help me find an acrylic Daisy Cutter that was made for me. My youngest son and I had a great time.
