Has anyone tried these and had success? Looks awesome, unless the sling broke and snapped back on your face.

I could see it be great for hunting from a cedar tree with limbs everywhere...other than that...good way to punch yourself in the face

I have not used them, but a friend of mine is a prostaff with them and loves them for bowfishing.

As far as deer, you need to check your state laws. They may not be legal.

That weenie little light isn't going to do much for bowfishing at night.

The idea is sound and comes from a few guys mounting the inner rings from a Whisker Bisquit rest to a regular slingshot. Which by the way is a lot cheaper than a fancy urban tactical slingshot with a combat light.

Actually it works quite well. I have a similar set up I put on my bow. Some guys that run generators and kWs of lights will on occasion just go out with a bowlight. It's quite and peaceful and a lot less hassle and you just troll the shoreline looking for fish in the light. It really does work quite well.

Could it happen? Yes in theory. Does it happen in practice?

The biggest danger with shooting a bow at fish is that the line will get tangled and come back at you.

That or getting hit by flying fish.

The power of a longbow?.................LOL I think not. I would question if you would get the equivalent of 35# of draw weight (the minimum for large game in my state) out of that settup. I could see it working for small game and fish.

The only issues I've ever known of with slingshot bands is the band splitting where the tube slides on to the handle and you usually see the split long before it breaks.
