youtube does not do it justice.....you need to go with us one year my friend.

I made one, which was my first, Canada goose hunt in northern Alberta a few years ago. It was amazing!! This would certainly be closer and a lot cheaper than that type of trip.

were you shooting lessers, greaters or both?

It is 1/2~1/3 the cost of a trip to Canada.... especially if we caravan there and back.

For the regulars that know the story of our hunt with the guide Johnny years ago when his dog caught the brant; we hunted with Johnny saturday morning and messed with him hard when we got back to the cleaning shed at the guides house. Indawoods told him,"Hey Johnny, we heard your song leaving the field.."
To which Indafire responded, "I think I have it cued up on my phone...(he hit's play)"

Brian was the first one to get it. He simply said "Freebird". :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: One of the guide about choked on gumbo, and Brian got a big kick out of the song...He said-Oh, that's right!! I had forgotten about that!!!"

Hey Johnny...tribute out to ya Brah!!! :hi: :lol3:

Nice job! Can't wait for the pics.

Call the locals next time. Speegleville Rd would have bypassed the Twin Bridges over Lake Waco. Hope you didn't back track too far...

I remember an 11hr trip from Lubbock home to Arlington in med school in ice and snow, normally took us 6hrs, was awful.

Sounds nice swamp. Can't wait for pictures.

Why on earth did you go from Waco to Houston? Every direction from Houston would have taken you within 30-100 miles from Waco.

Yea, that's what Brian told me. He was pissed at the geese sat. morning though... they just would not work right. they could see really well with the high cloud cover and the deeks just were not moving enough. We finished some geese early when we had a little more wind, but it got slow after that.

we did not actually go into waco. we passed close to it. not sure of the exact route we took as I was not the navigator-Indafire took control of that while I attempted to get some sleep for my shift driving....

Well if you were on 6 you were close, just curious why you went to/towards Houston. Need to have the navigator take a class on North, South, East, and West

Can't believe I only took one picture the whole trip. Indafire took a bunch though...I will have to get them from him.
this is the first morning. Geese started coming to the field about 745 and we were done about 8:30.

dallas was iced. We were trying to get to I-10. Which direction do you suggest we go from ranger Texas? We took the route suggested by a seasoned professional trucker.

truthfully...any direction away from dallas and a 70 mile traffic jam would have been welcome at the time. we went south to get below the ice. that strategy paid off just south of Waco and we were able to hook it up at 75 mph once again.

...some stuck for over 30 hours...

watch the news cast from local news station:
http://www.wcnc.com/weather/severe-weather/235078201.html

...will be another 24~30 hours before it is cleared. So many 18 wheelers on I-20 that crews can't clear the roads....

“I-20 had to be closed last night at Ranger Hill. If you must travel, you need to pack extra clothes and food because there’s a real possibility of getting stranded.”

none of the digital hwy signs along I-20 ever said that I-20 had been closed at ranger, texas...
