Any .22 Ammo?

Postby Black Brant » Fri Dec 13, 2013 5:12 pm

Granted I live in a remote area but I do travel to town occasionally, and my kids live in Fairbanks but I have not seen or heard of anyone buying .22 ammo in the last couple of years. I thought the producers where supposed to be caught up by now, is it just Alaska, my poor timing, or are others still unable to find ammo? You can by guns out the wazoo but nothing to shot through them.

About the same here.
Hoarders are buying it up.
Some stores limit the purchase to two boxes.

It is rare to find 22 ammo on the shelf anywhere. A couple stores near me had a truckload sale and people drove over a 100 miles for just 1 brick.
May I be half the man my bird dog thinks I am.

Same here hoarders marking up the price double or triple.
Only in America.
A free market supply and demand.

What is worse people are paying it.

I know 2 people who frequently set up tables at gun shows, and that's exactly what's happening. They make their rounds to all the stores on the day the ammo comes in and buy their max and resell it for at least double. I'm sure there's a lot more out there doing the same. Kinda reminds me of gas prices. Free market at its best.

Great Lakes outdoor supply has it on and off. I've been in there when they have a pallet full of bricks on the floor.

Dicks was selling them by the box load. Same with Gander Mountain.

I just finished looking for 220 Swift shells on line.
None available.
Guess I need to get my loader out.

Hmm I smell a rat.
Obama is not going to take the guns just the ammo.
22-250 is just as bad.
Think I got enough supplies for 500 rounds plus what I have loaded.
