Or anyone else that can answer my question.

Uncle swung by tonight and we got to talking about duck calls. Something got me thinking.

RNT, they sell a ton of calls I would assume. I will assume that most barrels and inserts are run on a CNC. But when it comes to reeds, corks, and assembling, how do they go about that. Are all calls blown before they are packaged?

Lets leave DD out of this. I don't give a damn about them sitting in a room with rubbermade totes full of calls and how they do it. I want to know about the high quality calls.

The wife and I dropped by to see Bucky boy today. They do everything in house. From making their own bands down to the tuning. They tune every one by hand before it leaves. I can't ever talk to buck on the phone for all the racket in that room.

They blow and tune before they ship.

I'm not saying that it shouldn't be done, I'm just saying it is ill advised...

So more or less there are a few guys hand assembling sitting a room together?

Be easy for Butch to tell if they are working or not.

pretty sure the guys that tune the calls have a barrel they use to tune calls with. that way you don't get a call someone has had there mouth on.

That's pretty close. Each step happens in a different room, but they are all close together.

Sounds pretty neat. They allow people to check the shop out don't they? If I ever get down that way I would like to check it out just for kicks.
