I've got enough CMP .22 ammo to last a lifetime. Used to be able to buy it at Camp Perry for $50 a 4000 round case. My 39A loves it.

In the prairies of Canada last fall there was a shortage of good 22 ammo but lots of crap like wildcats and Thunderbolts, with gopher season around the corner CCI ammo is being snapped up quickly and will be in short supply as I saw a guy buy 600 rounds of CCI and that big chain is depleted and there is still a lot of boxed cheap ammo for plinking. For some reason there is a good supply of Rem Yellow Jackets which are real accurate but I don't want to blow up a grouse. and they don't feed well in my two guns. I think by the time snow melts here will be a shortage again. Prices have gone up to $9 for 100 rounds and $4.50 for 50

I will be long dead before I go through the .22 shells I have if I were forced into a survival situation. And I don't even have that many.

You surely jest. I coincidentally happened to be in a WalMart today and they had PLENTY of 22 shells. This is another urban myth.

Around here, the problem is the guys that frequent the gun shows. They all wait in line at the big retailers and buy their limit until it's gone and resell it at the shows for double what they pay. I know this for a fact. I know a couple of the bastages personally.

Only about 6000 rounds left!

We bought a bunch of German SK match .22 ammo off of championshooters.com before the craze in bulk for a about 40 dollars a brick. It was expensive but it's good stuff and it's all sold out now.

The last Federal .22 shells I got were the most inconsistant shells I've ever had. Never again, even for free.

Family or no family, there is no F'n way I would live in NY, NJ, or any other communist state on the left coast with those kinds of laws. Toss Colorado into that list as well! Move and breathe the free air!

I know you'd love Illinois.

I haven't seen a single box of .22 on the shelves in a long time. I have about 400 rounds and since I don't have anywhere to shoot it around here, they should last a long time. However, if I get desperate my parents bought a pile of them (9 bricks if I remember) at an estate sale a long time ago and still have most of them. Just wait for one of the hoarders to die and you can get them cheap.
