I am 26 years old and i live in Troutdale, OR. I also introduced myself in the Oregon forum page for my fellow Oregonians. I have been hunting waterfowl for about 7 years now, primarily ducks since i have yet to really have the opportunity to get out goose hunting. I would really like to get out goose hunting and learn more about how to find some honey holes for myself. I have a 2.5 yr old black lab that i had trained for waterfowl by Countryside Kennels in Brush Priarie, WA and she did a top notch job training her. As far as my record for my dogs retrieves, i think she is around 50- 75 retrieves and only getting more. I primarily hunt Sauvie Island on the west side unless i have a reservation on the east.
I am a member of ducks unlimited and the Hoodview chapter of the OHA. I have been hunting big game and upland since i was 15. I love getting outdoors and spending time in the blind or in the woods with friends, family and fellow hunters.
I would love to meet and talk with new people and maybe try to find some new spots somewhat close to the Portland area, but driving a couple hours from time to time for a good spot will not make me say no. I will be becoming a new Dad within the next couple weeks so my time hunting this year is limited. But hopefully i will be able to turn my little girl into a lean, mean duck killing machine when she gets older (as long as mom is ok with that).
Congratulations on the new member of the family OR. You sound like a good guy. I am a CA'fornian but used to live in Astoria. Great country. Wish sometimes I was still there.
