Hey yall, my names Mike. Born and raised in Charlotte, NC. This is my first year duck hunting on my own, been with friends a couple times the past few years but now I'm doing it myself. Did a good bit of scouting before the season and went out opening day here in NC (Nov 10) and ended up with 2 mallards and 2 woodies, a Drake and hen of each. Then the bug bit and I've hunted 5 of 7 days that week, this is addicting! Built a blind for my bass tracker and am pretty happy with it. Anywho, hope to learn some tips and tricks from yall and I definately need to work on my calling! Here's a pic of my first duck this year and the blind I built. Happy Hunting!

Im currently going to college up in alpine tx (aint no ducks around here) majoring in Criminal Justice hope one day to be a Game Warden. If you hunt the area, I normally drive a very "unique" mckee craft, its all patched up from hurricane Ike, say hello.

Hi fellas. I've had an account here for a little while, but haven't posted much and thought I would offer up an "intro". Why is it these intros always feel like I'm typing an ad on an online dating service? My name is Jameson and I'm a 42 year old fat guy who likes to shoot ducks. I live in Huntington, IN (about a half hour southwest of Fort Wayne). While I really enjoy waterfowl hunting, my first love is traditional bowhunting with my longbow. I just had to have my 5 1/2 year old labrador retriever put to sleep this past September due to health issues (long story, but the specialists at Purdue couldn't do much else for him). So, the waterfowling has been put on the back burner this year a little bit since it just isn't the same without knothead. I have a new yellow lab pup coming next spring and can't wait. We'll be making up for lost time and doing a LOT of duck and goose chasing next year. That being said, I did manage to get the kayak out for a float trip last Friday and took my first gadwall. Great day to be on the river, that's for sure.

You guys (and gals) have a Happy Thanksgiving and God bless.

Hi. :hi: My name is David. I live in Oregon in the same town I grew up in near Salem. I have hunted ducks and almost all game since I was 10, so thats like many many decades, lol. Yes , I am in the used to hunt with lead and why can't I now? camp. I have a 2YO black lab named Pepper. He is my constant hunting and fishing partner. I hunt public land here. I am such a bad shot I wear two duck coats, so when I run out of shells in the 1st coat I just peel off a layer and have a coat full of shells. I also enjoy pheasant, elk, deer, antelope and grouse hunting and fishing of all types. I hunt with a Remington 870 12ga supermag or a 870 20ga. I have bags of deeks and still think I need more. Today my alarm when off and I just rolled over. But I hunted Monday. I am a semi retired OTR truck driver

Hey name is Matt new to the site and thought i would throw something up here.

I'm 23 and been hunting since i was 9, though starting waterfowl hunting when i was 10 or 11. Hunt both ducks and geese, mainly small ponds for puddle ducks, and field shoot geese. I like close shooting where you can actualy see what your shooting, if they will land i let em. shoot a 870 now, started with an old 20 but now after shooting my 870 i don't think i will ever change to anyhting else.

Currently out working and living on my own so having to change up my hunting style a little. i don't have a hunting dog so have to find places i can wade or use a fishing pole for.

live in WA. grew up hunting east wa but living in western wa i am having to learn how to change my hunting to fit the area and people.

Hello All,

My inlaws live in MT around the Pony area and I was wondering if any would be willing to point me in the right direction for some hunting near by. Im not looking for any honey holes just a general area of where i may be able to get into some birds. I do have a boat and field gear so i can hunt wear ever. Im heading up that way for some fam stuff but id love to get out and kill some birds while im there. Thanks for any help and i"ll do the same for anyone coming down this way.

Hey guys, My name is Todd. I've only been Duck hunting for 3yrs. So I dont have much to offer, but lots to learn. I got interested in ducks While watching them land in a watershed from my treestand. Its been a slow process, but I'm having a blast. Deer season is slowly becoming something to kill time waiting on Duck season......

New guy here in Idaho. Actually new to Idaho as well. I am just getting back into waterfowling after a bit of a hiatus. I spent some time stalking waterfowl around Oregon a number of years ago, but life hijacked my priorities. Good to be back at it!

Hey Fellas, My name is Conrad. I live in Little Rock,AR. I'm a middle school technology teacher by trade. I spend most of my time hunting the Mississippi delta outside of Memphis, TN. Flooded rice mainly. This is my first year in the world of shooting an Auto... I've spent my whole life sticking up for my Winchester 1300 Featherweight (and I've used it for the last 17 years), but after running out of shells on closing day last year and trying to borrow some... I realized I was the only guy in the blind shooting 3" shells. I decided to hang up the Winchester and found a nice wood stock SBE II. Hunting is a lot different now...
I was told people wouldn't take me seriously without a signature.

Well Maine duck hunter here. Where are they all? Went to river this a.m. Saw 6 birds first thing . No commitment. Not sure what is going on. Should be a pile of them. Scouted cornfeilds and not seeing them there either. Well I hunt with sbe2, I have a German short haired pointer for retrieving ducks/partridge and pheasant hunting. Cold weather today 23 degrees and not many birds. Apparently hunting wrong spots here(Sebago lake area)

My name is Terry. I'm from Southern NJ (big differnce from the north) and been duck hunting since I've been 5. I'm 21 now and have one of those things called a "job". I work for the US Navy and new to the whole Virginia area. I currently live in Portsmouth and trying to get back out to the blind. In NJ i have a homemade 10 Ft boat that my dad built when i was 15. it has a 25 hp motor with stick steering. Fastest boat on the water at home. I also have a female GR pup who is now about 12 yrs old and cant really be out in the meadow anymore. I'm just looking for places to go or state land i could get to that has alot of ducks and not too many ppl (wishful thinking I know). Let me know what ya'll think.

My name is McKinley Duke. I am a college student in East Arkansas. I grew up outside of Kansas City, so I grew up under the heavy influence of my fathers love of upland bird hunting. My uncle during my youth also had a prime lease outside of Stuggartt and that is where I fell in love with duck hunting. I now duck hunt whenever classes don't get in the way. I have turned into a fanatic.

I found this website looking for advice and information on new guns and advice on anything to do with duck hunting.

Hi folks -- I posted an intro over in the women's forum before I saw this thread sooo I've copied it over here. Hope everyone is having a great season so far -- ours has been pretty interesting to say the least but it has still been a lot of fun. Due to the drought we only have water on the big lakes, rivers and marshes... which forced me to try some new things... it turns out I LOVE hunting the big river. Today it was 70 degrees and we only have about 2 weeks left of our duck season -- talk about rough! I'd give just about anything for a cold snap!

Anyway -- here's the intro!

Hello! I'm new to the site so I thought I'd introduce myself - I'm from Iowa, started hunting upland birds about 6 years ago and picked up the waterfowl obsession about three years ago. I didn't grow up in the waterfowl world - In fact I didn't even pick up a gun until I was 20 or so... but it didn't take long before I was hooked. I was lucky that many of my coworkers hunt and after a certain amount of pestering, they gave me some pointers. Our local duck forum has been a blessing as I'm pretty much self taught. It took a while, but I'm starting to figure things out! I don't know very many waterfowlers, and I certainly don't know any women who hunt around here so introduce yourselves if you're in the area! Thanks - looking forward to chatting with you folks.
