here is a bit of a trivia question for y'all

Postby possumfoot » Wed Apr 16, 2014 6:59 pm

does 2oz of #8.5 at 1200fps/mv have the energy to kill a wild turkey at 100 yards..

no need to explain.. simple yes or no will suffice

when ballistics gel tests are conducted, it is generally accepted that 1.25inches of penetration is "lethal" to a turkey.

Is the wild turkey in a glass bottle or a plastic bottle? Fifth or a handle?

i am talking an eastern wild turkey..

i'll make it easier..

A: energy to kill at 108 yards

B: energy to kill at 92 yards

C: thats way too dang far for anything that small to even be close to lethal.

It's not the energy that you need to be concerned with at that distance-it's the pattern...

I like at least 7-9 pellets in the skull and spine.....

Woods mossberg will throw 27 pellets in the head and neck with 7-9 in the skull and spine at 62 yards with 3 1/2" heavy shot #6's...2 oz. of shot.
