Go with a 10'. You will not be able to lay down in the 8'. the ends are dull of foam and only gives you 6' of usable space. The 10' has more usable space and paddles way better with the longer length.
I really want to feel that I am IN the boat, not floating ON the boat. Especially with rain and snow, having a small cockpit is big. Also, the 10 starts to get less of a "pumpkin seed" and more of a traditional kayak. I'll check the dimensions.
I have a 10 foot pod and really like it but if I was going to buy a new boat I would look at the half breed. I have seen it in person and it has way more room in it and feel way more sturdy than mine. I am 5'10 and 220 and the 10 foot pond feels tight at times to me.
i have seen it, pretty nice little boat, cockpit is a lot larger. Paddles well from what i have heard. Tealer on here sells them, and i think helped design them. he is worth contacting
