Say a prayer for this crew. I have a bad feeling about them coming home tomorrow. I hope I am wrong about this. I pray that I am wrong.
I hope the "brains" at NASA know what they are doing.

Fox news is (I think) is going to start coverage at 3 am (ET) MM77, yeah, that is about the time they are coming in. I am not sure if it is the time there are to land or the time they are going to start re-entry.

It's been delayed for a day because of bad weather at both landing sites

yep thats what they are saying....they had two chances and both were called off because of chances of rain. Tomorrow they will have two more trys at it, they say that they might land it in New Mexico if need be.

Just think of how much $$$ it would take to haul that thing from NM to Florida!!!!

Snafu, I like how you say "brains", because I'm assuming you are thinking the sarcstically like I am. How can those darn people not fix a reoccuring problem that have been having. It absolutely amazes me.

My prayers are with them on their journey home.

The pilot, Jim Kelly, is from here in Southeast Iowa (Burlington). Hopefully everything goes well.

gsp, Yes, that was sarcasm you detected. I like how "they" said after the shuttle was in space, "we never should have launched." NO frigging kidding! Then they ground the shuttle program again before they even land this one. I can't even imagine what the crew is thinking right now.
I know I would be having a fit. The "pucker factor" would be so high I would not even need safety straps to hold me to my seat.

If I understand this right, the company that makes the foam (that keeps falling off during the launch) had to switch to a weaker formula, because the other foam they made was freon based and did not comply with EPA standards. Isn't that just dandy?

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for them and say a little prayer that they make it back safe. When will they re-attempt?

They said it would cost $1 million to fly it back to Florida if it lands at the alternate sites.

Well California it was. That's a hell of a long way from Florida.

Any body ever see pictures of how they hall that thing around? My great uncle used to work at White Sands Missile Testing Site in New Mexico. He has actual pictures that he took of the shuttle on the back of the 747 they fly it back on. One of the pictures shows the plane taking off with the shuttle on its back. Pretty cool photos, if I had a scanner I'd post them up here.
