A friend of my dads took me when I was 12. We only saw 1 duck. Didn't matter, I was hooked for life. I'm now 49. 37 years, chasing these crazy birds and I'm as hooked as ever.
New birds make us all better hunters...eh.

Well I'm 54 and this will be my 46th season to carry a gun, I went with Dad from the time I was 6 but was just an observer. Here on the coast I have watched it go from the clouds of ducks and geese to what we have now. The coast has suffered from the change in miagration patterns and those changes where brought on by man. Here's hoping that there is a
"GRAND PASSAGE" coming this fall and the birds will ride that blue norther south to the coast. I don't have to kill a lot of birds but I dang sure like to see a lot.

I'm 47 going on 48 Oct. 4th and have only hunted ducks 5 seasons. This one will be my 6th.
Build memories, take a kid out doors and teach them about nature by interacting with it, hunting and fishing.

I am 61 years old. Hunted geese and ducks with my dad when I was 15. Been duck hunting every year since (except for a couple years of being interrupted by Uncle Sam). Goose hunted in NC until the mid 80's when they stopped our goose season. Don't know if we killed too many or if up north started doing different land management to stop geese from migrating down here, but we do not get Canada geese the way we did back then. I will be traveling to Regina, Canada in October to goose hunt and excited about doing that again. Have not shot a goose in about 20 years.

I'm 38 and this will be my 32nd season.
There's a reason it's called huntin' and fishin' instead of killin' and catchin'

well I'll be 49 next month, firstwent huntig (squirrell with grandad at 2, hunted dove and quali with BB gun at 5, shotgun at 8, didn't get to first duck and goose until 22, very few in our area until moving to texas coast.

took son on squirrell hunts at 2 and dove hunts at 4. bought him a Rem870 for 8th birthday. Full-size gun with 3" chamber, took an old stock and cut down to fit him and put full-size stock up. Reloaded some winAA hulls t oequivalent of 28ga skeet loads for practice adn dove season. had the gun loaded with 3" 20ga 4's first morning of duck season, at first light a single malllard came in low and he rolled it at 40yrs. He would still rather use that shotgun than any other. At 12 bought him a Mauser 7x57, took his first deer opening day. He still uses that old mauser.

But grandson (his son) is 6, he may be about to lose his shotgun. The short stock is in the guncase :toofunny:
If you're gonna shoot it.....eat it.

Way to go Old Mississippi. Glad to know that I am not the oldest one on this board. You are the first one to "out-do" me! Good hunting to you.
