Good Weekend

Postby cmelik10 » Mon Sep 12, 2005 3:13 pm

This weekend I finally was able to get back out to the field and chase some geese around. Saturday we setup in a field that we did not have a chance to scout at all so we had to go on the farmers word that there were geese using the field. We got out there around midnight and got setup and took alittle nap until the birds started to fly. Once they started moving we had a heck of a hunt...two short of a limit only because our own stupidity....three of us standing outside the blinds when a group of came flying in and they saw us scrambling around to get back into the blinds.

The group of us.

Sunday we setup in a wheat buffer strip that had about 20 geese in it the night before and had to leave before our geese started to move because of a thunderstorm. All in all one hell of a weekend.[/img]

ya it was a great weekend. This was the first time I have hunted geese in a field and it was the best thing since sliced bread. To have geese setting down at 5 yards was just increadible it is definaltey something I will do a whole lot more now.
