Wanted people to help with lease

Postby Firemdic04 » Sat Mar 09, 2013 12:41 pm

I have a duck lease that I can lease for the up coming duck season. It's loacted in between Squaw Creek and Bob Bown closer to Brown. This lease is a straight shot from Squaw Creek to Brown meaning that the ducks have to pass in order to get to Brown. E blind consists of a concrete blind and it also has electricty ran to it. The pool is feed by a pump that is on a timer that only runs this pool. The pump is set on a timer nd is ran for eight hours a day every day. The water is pumped at 65 degrees so the chance for freezing is minimal. The blind holds six people comfortably.

I would really like to lease this property this year due to the location and the amount of ducks in the area. I'm looking for five people to go in this. The price of the blind and pumping expense Woukd be split up equally.

Don't hesitate to ask questions

Well the price for the lease is $6,500 and the pumping expense averages around $600 a year. The owner states that if we pay in full by July 4 he will offer a 10%.

The blind hunts six people comfortably. As far as splitting up the cost of the blind it will be split up equally amongst everyone. I plan on hunting it as much as my schedule will allow me. I work as a paramedic and my schedule goes as follows 24 on 24 off 24 on 24 off 24 on then 4 days off in a row. I have some trade days and vacation days that I wil take during the duck season this year.

My first plan was to have my friends get to lease the blind. But they don't have the type of cash to drop on a blind. My thought was that who ever lease the blind we could make a schedule I was thinking that when we write the schedule we could make it a week or two weeks out. The owner states that he calls everyone when new birds are in the area. My plan is to go to brown if I don't get drawn in then go to the lease.

Yes it is Barnes place. Have you hunted there, if so is it worth the money?

I have been hunting brown and Nodaway for over ten years and I'm getting tired of waking up early and hunting public land and dealling with everyone.

I have no experience up there, but for that price it should be pretty solid, and that should include the cost of pumping as well. Might want to see if you can work that in.

Dang I'd probally be interested if I still lived in KC , that does sound like a sweet area to hunt ! I could be one of those lease dudes with first option to draw --then if not hunt lease or wakeup late , and still hunt that day!--- -- Right now that would be too long of a drive.
