Federal Duck Stamps / MDC areas

Postby QakQak » Mon Oct 14, 2013 11:00 am

Anyone having trouble obtaining your federal duck stamp? I heard once current supply runs out; may be tough to find..

Also, think the shutdown will trickle down and affect any MDC duck parks?

Got my stamp before Teal Season. Shutdown will affect some parks like Duck Creek. Pool 8 wade and Shoot is part of Mingo NWR and therefore will be closed until the shutdown is over. They don't flood it till mid Nov anyways, and I can't believe the shutdown will last that long. They should fire everyone in congress regardless of party affiliation. They are all a bunch of no brained idiots that don't know how the real world works.

mjcraig had a good response there. It might affect duck creek, but the normal areas that are state run will not be affected. MDC is a state organization, therefore not affected by the government shutdown.

Right. Mingo is a national wildlife park, not state. Shutdown is over I think anyway, so that's good.

:grooving: Here's to all the zones being open soon!! :grooving:

I hope everyone has a super season full of great hunts and good times with friends and family in the field/swamp/marsh/timber!!

I would also like to remind everyone to please be safe. I know that most likely everyone here hunts a lot all year long and the more you do something the easier it is to become complacent and not really pay attention to the small details. Here in SEMO there was a tragic accident at one of the CAs near the end of the year. Let's hope there are no more, but please always remember how quick something like that can happen!

So be safe, have fun, and shoot straight!
