None of the duck parks NEED a boat. Just depends how far you want to walk packing in your stuff. Boats make things much more convenient to hunt and hide in low cover. Most of the time we just use a boat to get out there and then sit on marsh seats in the corn.
Work hard, relax hard.

I use a trolling motor on a 14' boat loaded with all the gear and 4 adults and it works just fine. I would say it depends on the size of the trolling motor. Mine is a 32lbs thrust.

this year due to flood damage, the areas that require boats are not being hunted (but on normal years they have boats available for those areas). hunted there last week and they had minimal water in many of the pools. might use a boat in nose slough or to get to c1 but you don't have to. all pools have moist soil veg/weeds didn't see any corn. Very tough to hide due to lack of tall cover. Layout boat worked wonders.
