Looking at the five day and beyond forecast it looks pretty grim. Friday night low of 12 and high of 25 on Saturday/Sunday. Nothing above freezing for several weeks. This is for Lincoln and St. Charles counties. I know you all can read the weather forecast but this sucks!

Damn global warming. :sarcmark:

I was just enjoying the sound of the ice melting :clapping: when I looked at the extended forecast. Looks like we have until Thursday. Thursday night the bottom drops out and like you said, no recovery in sight. And I was looking forward to doing some South Zone hunting. :crying:

My buddy was just in town from Omaha, Nebraska. He said they are stacked up with Canada geese right now. Maybe with this deep cold they will move in? Been seeing more Canada's, just not ready to chase them this early! Pulling our decoys out on Thursday unfortunately. The local station here in STL, Dave Murray to be exact, said this cold spell will last 20+ days of below normal temps. Time to hit the big water I Guess???? Buddy has a reservation for BK Thursday, but with the rain we will likely head to the blind. Not a huge fan of wade and shoot in the pooring rain! Snow yes, not rain.

I just got back breaking ice for five hours. Place is on the west side of a lake and still had places with an inch of ice. Had over 200 decoys to bust out. I couldn't even get to them yesterday. Opened up and I figured I'd take the week off and hunt until it locks up.

Lot's of green.

Oh I didn't say it was going to stop us. Just makes it a little tougher.
We just ordered the young un some new waders, couldn't his old ones to stop leaking. Fix one spot and another starts leaking. Oh well, nothing like some good feezing temps to test out new waders in. They should be in by the time the cold hits. He will just have to tuff it out on the QD tomorrow. Hope to post some good pics.
