Mark Twain Lake, anyone duck hunt it?

Postby hucklburry » Sun Sep 25, 2005 9:35 am

I have heard people have some success there, anyone here ever duck hunt it?

I have a 14' V-hull that I am getting ready for taking there with an 18hp evinrude.

Any advice on where to put in and which direction to go? I will be coming from St. Charles, so south side of the lake would be best.

I have been up there before 2-3 times, but don't know the lake real well.

Thanks!

We hunt it alot. We hunt out of an 18 footer with 75HP. If your in a 14 footer you better not hunt when it's windy. big lake, whitecaps can be VERY dangerous. Take that boat up now when the water is a little warmer and drive around. There are mulitiple ramps to use. Drive up on a saturday during season and you'll see which ramps are popular.

The lake can have some good hunting depending on the day. Good luck scouting!!
