It was awsome. Not sure who had more fun my dog or him.

This kid could shoot! His first duck hunt took all of 11 shots resulting in 7 ducks consisting of 2 pintail, 1 mallard, 1 shovler ( miscommunication on which duck to shoot) and 3 greenwings. I was home by 9am. Lots of birds flying. I dont think Ive ever seen more pintails. By far the most common duck that came into the dekes.

My Uncle, Rocki Dog and I took my cousin Karina pheasant hunting Sunday. Not much for birds.
Rocki had an awesome time. She really didn't know what we were after. She almost got trampled by a bedded down buck.
Might have to go down there with my bow. It was really hot and 12 year old girls lose interest when there isn't much to shoot and they have to walk that much. Also glad she didn't shoot the big Owl that Rocki spooked. All in all it was nice to get out.
Rocki did well considering the heat and lack of birds. Spent the rest of the afternoon golfing what a beautiful day.

He's on the right path. I'd wager that most of the people on this forum shoot a box for every limit, some probably way more.

JD Duck Hunting.jpg

I got this picture of my Nephew today. His first Duck Hunt and he loved it! He just tagged along
with one of his other Uncles. I called him to get the details and he was about as excited as a 5 yo
can get without Santa or cake being involved. Sounds like he's hooked. I guess season is open in
WI or IA already. He also took second in a fishing derby.

Don't bust my Balls about any Hens or how many shots they took because I WASN'T THERE!
I average about a box and a half a bird though..... good thing I don't pick up all those empties
that would really suck. ;)

I was pissed that tops been holding out on us about his woodie hotspot........then I realized there was no way he knew a spot he could shoot 4 ducks in one day. So I read his post.
