What waterfowl species have you shot

Postby phutch30 » Tue Oct 18, 2011 7:45 am

So the "what species have you been getting" topic got me thinking of the different species Ive taken ove the years. I try to add 1 or 2 every year or so. What species do you have on your lifetime list.

So far ive taken drakes of the following species in different states-

Gwt
Bwt
Cin teal
Mallard
Pintail
Black duck
Wood duck
Gadwall
Shovler
Ringneck
Redhead
Lesser scaup
Common goldeneye
Barrows goldeneye
Rudy duck
Bufflehead
Muscovey duck- 1989 Merrimack River NH and yes it flew into the decoys
Hooded merganser
Common merganser
Red breasted merganser
Coot
Gallinule

Canada goose(4 spubspecies)
Speckle belly
Snow
Ross
tundra swan

Heading to DE with Ray in Dec for cans, greater scaup, alantic brant, oldsquaw, whitewing and surf scotters, black ducks and maybe if we get lucky eiders.

....its like taking x-lax when you have a bad cough. It wont clear up your lungs, but it sure stops you from coughing

Where did you shoot timberdoodle (NE speak for woodcock)? I shot a bunch back in NH.

Mud bats. Great memories growing up shooting those little devils. Chances are I have killed a few in the same places Bulldog did.

I shot the timberdoodles in the UP of MI. They're pretty darn fun!

I have not shot any of the seaducks, but have the rest covered with the exception of a black duck.

I shot a bunch around TC and probably every 2 track between Marquette and Gladstone. Mud bats are a blast to hunt, but I would take ruff's any day for eating.
