Headed to Great Falls

Postby TXHunterchick » Mon Oct 24, 2011 9:01 am

Howdy everyone. I am headed up to Great Falls the week of the 7th. Is there anyone (guides or kind hearted people) that does day hunts around the area? I am flying up so I will not have any gear, with the exception of my shotgun. Any help would be appreciated. I hunt on the Texas coast, so I hunt north of the Mason Dixon line would be great! Thanks!

I will be relugated to hunt during the week day. The weekend prior to is opening weekend for ducks down here in Texas and there is no way I am going to miss that, and the following weekend I have some hunters coming down. Thanks for the offer though.

It is nice to see that guys are the same up north as they are down here ;) Trust me, you can not handle me....I shoot 3 1/2 inch.

You might need more than your shotgun. That ime of the year up in this country could mean plenty of cold weather gear.
I do not know of any waterfowl outfitters in GF or the surrounding area. I will do some checking for you though.

3 1/2" sounds pretty close to what I shoot, if it's not cold out.

We don't have any feeders here where the game comes a runnin' like they do in Texas.
Although there is a slough in the Bitteroot where the land owners put up feeders to
keep out hunters. Maybe if you ask Huey Lewis real nice he'll let you on.

All kidding aside, there aren't much for waterfowl outfitters here. Your best
bet is Google for something like that. Keep checking, maybe someone here
can put you on some birds. Also, expect anything from sunny and 70 to 0 and snowing.
So gear is important. Good Luck.
