Looking for guided waterfowl hunts in Kalispell/Helena/GF

Postby hannajb » Tue Aug 28, 2012 10:05 am

Guys,

I'm a recent transplant to Whitefish, looking for guided waterfowl hunts in late Nov/early Dec. Know of anybody in the flathead valley guiding waterfowl? What about GF, Bozeman, Helena area? Not finding much online...

Thanks!
Josh

Hopefully there are no guides! Last thing I want is for waterfowl guiding to get popular in MT.

There is plenty of good freelancing to be had if you do a little bit of legwork.

But maybe someone will pm you some names of guides, as there are a few out there, I just don't personally know any.

If FWP had any foresight at all they would crush the possibility of there ever being more waterfowl guiding in MT. Take your mentality back to wherever you came from (guessing CA) and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

If you ever make it down to Helena, and I'm not gone for work I'll take anyone out. That being said, you must not be an a**hole, sykybuster, complain, safety first, ect. I'm not a guide but I shoot my fair share of birds, I worked for the spots, but I really enjoy hunting with new people.

MTducks, if I wasn't a complaining, skybusting a hole who takes way too many risks, I'd think about coming up there to hunt with you this year.

Actually, Troutslayer, I'm from Oregon. I've been hunting for only a few years, and have been fortunate enough to have friends in Oregon who aren't a**holes like you. They were happy to take a new guy out and show me the ropes. I don't have a dog, decoys, boat, etc., which is particularly good since I live in a crappy apartment here and a small condo back in Oregon. I'm trying to find some hunting opportunities here in the Flathead valley, as I've been here for a whopping 2 months. If I see you out in the field, I'll make sure to thank you for your kindness to a new resident.

You sound like a great sport and a really good tipper. I'm sure if there were any waterfowl guides they would be proud to call you their client.

Good to know :)

I don't really take stuff personally online - people do tend to be "telephone tough guys" when it is all fairly anonymous, and there's just no sense in getting worked up...
