This guy decided to join the decoys at first light Saturday morning! Can't say I've ever seen one of these down in the Bitterroot! :huh:

It was on private land. How do you determine the age of it? I tried to look it up without to much success. It is fairly good size, much bigger than the handful of snows I've killed.

Most of the younger ones I've seen don't have very many black bars on their chests, I've also heard other people say that generally the more bars the older the bird. I didn't look closely at first but that spec does look pretty big compared to that Canada, so maybe it's just a rule of thumb. Congrats on a cool bird either way.

Its an adult. juvis dont have any barring only have a plain belly
....its like taking x-lax when you have a bad cough. It wont clear up your lungs, but it sure stops you from coughing
