Some carp pics

Postby phutch30 » Fri Aug 11, 2006 9:03 am

Man we have hammered the carp in Clark Canyon this summer. We have been hitting them every weekend. The fish have averaged 16lbs out of over 300 fish. Big fish is still the 44lb hog, but we have several dozen in the upper 20's to low 30's. If you like to bowfish get on down there, there are plenty of them. The shooting isnt fast and furious but we have shot 25-40 fish per person on each 5 hour shoot all summer. When you factor in the size of the fish its sure fun.

Two more weekends and then its time to go shoot a elk and finnish the duck blind on the boat.

Here are a couple pics from last weekend

Nice Paul. We found the hogs on CF this year as well. You have to try shooting them at night. It adds a whole new demension and you can do it after the family is fast asleep. I had a great time with Nick this summer. We caught a ton of fish. He went back to AK last Wednesday and he's already killed two bucks since getting home. Been working Hart quite a bit this summer as well. Man I wish I had his energy. I'm going to take a few days off next week to hunt Antelope. Looking forward to that. I'll give you a call to see what's up for the coming season. Take care, Mark

Mark-We did hit them a couple times at night, but the skeeters were so bad down on the lake it wasnt worth it.

As far as this season goes, I am bummed. That place were I took you opening day and we called in that bull last year is off the table for hunting. The landowner has closed all his roads that cross private. His son inlaw is starting an outfitting camp on thier ranch. So basically I just lost 50% of my best elk hunting area. Also,The area I killed my bull last year just had about 600 moo cows moved onto it last week. So thats also awsome. I just bought an 06 polaris sportsman 500 so I am thinking the Gravalies are gunna get alot of my attention this year.

drop me a line sometime

Paul
