near Manhatten. I parked and glassed them for a while. Mostly Mallards a few Pintails and Widgeon. 11 Huns walked right in front of my Jeep. As I was turning around to leave I spooked 4 Roosters. I guess they know where they are safe. Rocki was freaking out a bit though. It's cool to listen to actual duck sounds, gotta work on my chuckle
They were there last weekend too, except with a ton of geese also. Down on the rivers I didn't even see a duck, was having fun thinking about how awesome it would be to hunt there though. Those are really the only ducks I've seen in the past couple weeks.

I saw that today too. Way too many to even think about counting. Pretty impressive for sure. I'd be a happy camper if just a few hundred of them would fly 15 miles and land on the beaver ponds that I hunt. But they do seem to know where it's safe. I was doing a little stakeout tonight, shortly before dark, and I had 2 groups of huns (maybe 25 total) come in and land about 40 ft in front of my truck. And then 2 roosters walked across the road 20 ft in front of me. Bastards. I like seeing them around, but they don't need to mock me.
