Taxidermist in Missoula area

Postby deathfrombelow » Wed Jan 16, 2013 2:01 pm

Shot myself a mallard I'm proud of on the last day and I'm looking to throw him up on my wall. What place do you suggest in town? I got one quote and it was for $450. Seems a little steep. Any help would be great. Glad I found this forum, to bad at the end of the season!

I use Eugene Streekstra at Wildfowl Unlimited over in Florence.
Hes cheaper than Dale but aint cheap. Just remember you get what you pay for especially with taxidermy.

Some of his work

I had a sage grouse and hooded done by Eugene last year. He did a nice job and I didn't think his prices were too bad. $450 is highway robbery, imo, no way I'd pay that. You could send it off to someone in another state and pay shipping both ways and come out quite a ways ahead of that quote. Give Eugene a call and see what he can do, I think he's $300 or so, which is reasonable.

Those are really nice mounts, thanks for the help guys. I'm glad I found this forum. I'll look into Eugene, I know I get what you pay for. I definitely live by that. Sad the season is over already.

Give this guy a look, not local but $300 for a duck and the work in his gallery is incredible.

http://www.artistryoutwest.com/ Very fair price and VERY good work. Had several done here and had a ringneck duck and mallard done there last year which turned out really good.
