was thinking of planning a trip to Freezeout the last weekend of October...

if i do, what should i expect?

i understand that it can be thick there with other guys and the pressure high, but what i am wondering is if it's vital to have a boat or a dog? i have neither... all i got are hip boots. would that be problematic?

Expect to see lots of birds. Lots of geese really high. And idiots shooting at them from 100+ yards. It can be a good hunt if you can get away from other hunters. If you dont have a boat or a dog retrieving your birds will be very hard. The bottom of the ponds is nasty mud and there is alot of tall grass and cattails. If you dont have a boat or dog I would be very careful on where you hunt or you will lose more birds than you retrieve.
