FRESH BIRDS

Postby K-Town » Thu Oct 12, 2006 10:36 am

Me and 3 other guys limited on honkers by 9:00 this morning in a winter wheat field. At first light we probably saw 1500 mallards buzz over us and land in barley field behind us, gonna try to get them on Satureday. Good numbers of ducks are already arriving, finding them is the hard part. You could scout all afternoon and hardley see anything, and then you come around a corner and there will be a field with nothing but greenheads scrounging around, 3000+. This happened to me a couple night ago. Good luck to everyone this weekend  .

Thanks for the heads up :salude:

I limited on honkers down here by 8:00. Then as I was picking up about 2000 mallards started tornadoing out of the sky. I have no way of knowing if they were locals or migrants, but there were lots of birds at any rate. I've been seeing large conc. of mallards (locals feeding in fields), but this group was much larger than the ones I've been seeing.

Don't let up on um, take um while you got um

Had a good field shoot this morning. Could have been wayyyyy better if there was wind and some cloud cover. Me and 2 friends shot 21 mallards by 8:30. Also got 2 bands!

Any tips on posting pics would be appreciated. When I try to uplaod from imageshack, it doesnt work  [/img]

How could it have been much better? Limit by 8:00 instead of 8:30? Limit of banded birds? Must have been pretty damn good if you ask me!
