Tuesday's Harvest

Postby quackpipe » Fri Dec 01, 2006 10:27 am

It was harvest time on the Missouri on Tuesday for the Wolf Creek Oasis Allstars.

If we weren't suppose to kill susies, then the limit would be zero. But the limit is 2, thus I see no problem in killing susies. They eat up just as good as the greenies. It's like the robot duck issue. They outlaw them in several states which I personally feel is stupid. There is a limit for a reason. Once you obtain your limit, you go home. It doesn't matter how you get your limit, just as long as you do it right.

Lots of brown, but plenty of green to mix it up and make it a good hunt. We've had this little squabble before. :hammering:

Talk about a good hunt! Get that pup a nice steak, he earned it! As for the susie issue a duck is a duck & like Montana Quackhead said, there is a 2 susie limit for a reason. To each his own, I will shoot greenies whenever possible but have taken the occasional hen too.Always remember that we as hunters put a small dent in the total population

No problem on the Susie issue. Those that hunt with me know exactly how I feel about that subject. Each person needs to make the call on their own personal standards. I don't hold that against anyone. I choose to not shoot hens but that doesn't mean it's right for everyone. Whats far more important than the gender of our targets is the necessity that we as hunters stay united in preserving the sport that we love. God Bless and Good Hunting to all, Mark
