Rookies Debut

Postby Hart » Tue Dec 12, 2006 9:49 pm

One of the real pleasures to be found in waterfowling is introducing new folks to our sport. Today I had the opportunity to take two rookies. It was an awesome day. They asked a million questions and one of them shot 3 boxes of shells to kill 7 ducks and two geese. We had lots of high fives, good laughs and everyone shot limits of ducks. The highlight of the day was a flight of 6 geese that came to the call wings cupped and feet hanging. We killed all 6 geese with 8 shots from three guys. My poor dog didn't know which way to go first. The other highlight was, sorry Hutch, I got my third band of the season. I must be livin right this year. If you haven't taken a rookie hunting in a while, give it a try. It will revitalize your spirit. Picture of the two proud rookies below. God Bless and Happy Holidays to all, Mark

:salude: Awesome, it's been a while since I shot more than a box of shells for my limit of ducks, BUT I've never been a 3 box shooter, lucky for me. :toofunny: Sounds like a great hunt!

Yes I was. I let the two rookies use my layouts and I was in yours. Headed for Sandiego for the next few days to marry off the oldest boy. I'll be back on the 19th and in the field on the 20th. Take care, Mark
