A duck hunt and some other bird pic

Postby phutch30 » Thu Jan 11, 2007 9:53 am

Yesterday was my annual game warden appreciation day. I went out with one of the local game wardens for a duck hunt. It was surprisingly good shooting. I had a limit of green by about 1030 and he was done somewhat later with a 5 drake mallards and 2 widgeon.

The highlight of my season this year was I saw for the first time one of those pale or tan mallards. She/he was really cool, she was a light tan color, sort of like vanilla pudding. Really neat. Hart and I better not see her tomorrow as it will be heading for the taxidermist.

Here’s a pic from the last day of pheasant season. I received permission to hunt a local ranch this year for the last 4 days of the season. Pretty awesome bird hunting.
