2014 Lake Helena Coot Shoot?

Postby R. Chapman » Thu May 22, 2014 10:35 pm

If any of you guys have every hunted Lake Helena, you know they are thick there; hence the reason why there is a 25 a day limit. I think it'd be fun to do a 2 day coot shoot out at Lake Helena. Anyone want to join?

Have fun eating 50 coots. Anyone who bites on that idea is touched.

Exactly....what are you planning to do with 50 coots at the end of your two day hunt!

Coyotes need to be fed to, with rotting birds and a 55 gr. V Max.

You ever actually eat a coot, or do you just assume the world is flat because others say so?

Fortunately for the coots, they are considered migratory game birds and covered by the MT migratory game bird regulations (see also Wanton Waste).

Maybe instead consider a couple of afternoons at the Helena Trap Club. You can sleep in, you won't have to clean or keep a single bird, and you won't see the warden's truck pulling up to confiscate your 'yote rifle after he receives a TIP-MONT call.
