8/24/2007 Commission to Set 2007 Waterfowl, Seasons Aug. 31
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska Game and Parks Commissioners will set 2007 waterfowl, crow and falconry seasons at an 8 a.m. Aug. 31 meeting at the Missouri National Recreational River Resource and Education Center at Ponca State Park.
A public hearing to consider amending wildlife regulations pertaining to keeping wild animals in captivity will begin at 8:30 a.m.; a public hearing to consider authorizing a bighorn sheep hunting season and permit(s) for 2008 will begin at 8:45 a.m.; and a public hearing to establish 2007 waterfowl season and regulations is set to begin at 9 a.m.
Also on the agenda is:
– a recommendation to hold a public hearing at the next meeting to consider administrative regulations applicable to the passage of LB299 relating to paddlefish permits and establishment of a Lifetime Nebraska Migratory Waterfowl Stamp;
– a recommendation to hold a public hearing at the next meeting to consider amending fishing regulations;
– a recommendation regarding approval of State Outdoor Recreation projects from the Fiscal Year 2007 Land and Water Conservation Fund apportionment;
– a recommendation regarding acquisition of a 640-acre tract of wildlife land located in Sioux County.
