I dont know about string trackers, my freinds dad used one and shot a deer and it did not end well, it ran all over got caught on anything and everything, so unless its open feild and not woods, be cautious.

just my 2 cents

I was back over Easter and missed the season by a couple of days. Oh well. During the fall season I was back and took my son out and he got his first and second turkey. Man was he excited (and of course me too). We have a couple of places to hunt that are just loaded with turkey. I would guess on the place close to 500 birds. The other two each hold probably close to 250 birds each. Kind of disappointed I'm missing the spring season. Good Luck all.

Well I braved the weather today. Actually was a very nice day in the woods. I was trying to gain permission on some private land but didnt want to bother anybody on a Sunday. So I drove over to Wagon train lake and decided to go for a walk in the woods with the gun. I was walking 50 yards or so and calling to see if I could get anything to play. As I approached a field I looked and and saw a red head standing out there. At first look I thought it was a decoy, went to one knee and watched the bird start feeding. Quickly found a tree and gave a few yelps the lone bird came walking right at me......I remained silent and layed him down at 7yds. He was a jake, but will taste ooohhhh sooo good.
