Boat Blind Heater

Postby redneckhunter » Wed Oct 01, 2008 7:45 pm

Hey guys, been a member on here for a while just don't get on the forum as much as I want to. I'll try and get better with that. Anyway, I have a Tracker 1754 with a Beavertail blind on it and was wondering what you would recommend for a propane heater for this setup (brand, size etc).

I'm not looking for real warm but warm enough to take your stocking hat, gloves off to relax in between birds.

I wouldn't mind being able to cook off of it but it is not a necessity since I could always bring my coleman stove to cook food. Any suggestions would be helpful since you know what Nebraska weather can bring us!

heater

The big ole buddy heater might work. The only problem with propane is your tanks will freeze up when it gets real cold and the CO senors are real sensitive and can keep shutting off.

We went with a kerosene heater. Sometimes a little difficult finding the fuel, but works great.
Bring em in!!!

Heater

I just use a one sunflower Mr. Heater on a 10# flat bottom tank I use for ice fishing, it's really hard to tip. I also have a bungee through it to keep it from tipping.

The Big Buddy would work well too. Honestly, the Beavertails are pretty warm, I have one too.

cooking

I've seen guys do that but I don't. I just bring an old two-burner coleman and cook on that.

I have a my fire extinguisher on my left, I cook on my right. Consider that whatever you set up.
