For the few southern NV guys on here..

OK, after a bit of tap dancing, we're set and going to do the seeding project out at OWMA on Sunday, August 5th @ 0800, so between the DU dinner(Sat), the planting project (Sun) and the CAB meeting (Tues), it will be a waterfowl week extravaganza! We should have about 300-400lbs of BioLogic Guides Choice to spread out there. This is a blend of Japanese millet, sorghum, buckwheat and rice which hopefully will create some amazing food plots for the game birds to forage on. All comers are welcome! I'll be bringing a couple cases of water and some soft drinks to curb thirsts and stave off dehydration. Hope to see you out there. This is a WHIN sponsored project spearheaded by the Mossy Oak ProStaff guys so a big THANK YOU to WHIN!! :clapping:

Nope, the tractor wasn't actually broken down, it was a leaky tire that he decided to take out of service until this week and no water was put on the areas to be planted. We did catch two tweekers that had broken into the check station though. :lol3:

If I'm reading the action report right, the commission recommendations are to have 3 days of youth hunt at overton and the reservation system will remain the same except the hunters will have to show a valid hunting license with hip number. Brian any further updates? Also, what's new with the excavation there? Looks like you all made good points re: the reservation system. Nice job!

I was happy with the outcomes on what was up for action, and thanks for the slant idea on selling that point. The board nodded their heads when I brought those facts up. They also used my verbiage for addendum for the late season youth hunt. The kids get the 3 days of youth hunt! We laid out the situation as it stands and they were open to trying the added presentation req's and have the option to iron out the problems of the mail-in for next year if they feel this season was no improvement. One thing that did not bode well was the merging of the two items (season, reservation) into one action item for the state meeting. I looked at other counties action reports and they simply made an "in support" designation which overall would hurt our effort. It made the proposed mail-in reservation system like an earmark thrown in on a popular bill so it passes undetected.
Did anyone attend the Winnemucca meeting?
