Not really on the duck topic but I was wondering in if anyone on here has an interpretation of using Blackhorn 209 during the upcoming muzzleloading season. I understand that last year some tag holders received a letter from NDOW stating BH 209 is considered a smokless powder and is illegal to use. I've got a tag this year and did not receive a letter. BH 209 is marketed as a black power substitute, and by the reg's this year a black powder substitute is legal.
Anyone have any opinions on what the law is and how they plan to regulate it?

almost all the powder that you buy off the shelf is a substitute. Blackhorn, shocky's gold, tripple seven, and so on. The only place in town that may carry traditional blackpowder (the real stuff) is Mark fore and strike. You are fine to use the blackhorn. It is about the best you can buy.
