There were 3 in my group we all limited on specs in the evening. There had to be at least 400 - 500 specs out at washoe. Ive killed one out there before and the biggest group I had ever seen before yesterday was 2 and that was in the Carson Valley
I herd specks had a huge hatch this year. They are everywhere. I herd they went up 20% just with this hatch. I'm prolly wrong but that's word of moulth.
Yeah Specs had a huge hatch. The biggest thing is they are looking for water. Areas that normally have water are dry, like the Klamth Basin one of there huge stopping areas is very dry this year. Hit them soon because as soon as the rice harvest is done and the Sacramento valley is Flooded up those Specks will be jumping over the hill. Nothing eats like a Speck hot off the grill.
Saw 4 of them at Rancho San Rafael today. They were wandering around with a pretty good sized group of Canadas. They were young and didn't have the bars across their breasts yet.
