Anyone ever hunt out there. Was messin around on google earth at the library when I should have been studying and saw it. Can't find a whole lot of info on it but thought it may be fun to try out.
Mason Valley is a great place to go if you do not have a boat. Almost all of the water is only a few feet deep to big grass fields to Nevada desert. There are lots of ponds to hunt from. There is camping out there also. You can hunt ducks, quail, turkey (if you get a tag), geese and I hear but haven't seen any. I have been told there are some Mongolian pheasant out there.
There is an office at the hatchery that has lots of info that you can get. There is usually someone around the hatchery that will answer any question that you have. They have maps of the areas along with the regulations in the office also.
It will take a while to learn how to get to each pond, but get a map at the hatchery and start checking places out. Try to not hunt the ponds that are close to parking lots.
